Keto Chaffle definition A keto waffle, also called a keto chaffle, is delicious and nutritious. It's way better than a regular waffle because it's low carb, sugar free, and made with real veggies!
The ketogenic diet is one of the hottest trends in the health world for good reasons. Not only does this high-fat diet help you lose weight more quickly than any other type of eating plan (including counting calories) but it also has been shown to cause significant improvements in biomarkers related to diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
But let's be honest: going into a restaurant while on the keto diet can be tough because you can't order french fries or chicken nuggets. Even when a restaurant makes a special dish for you it's still difficult to order something that you can eat.

This recipe is so simple that a child could make it! It's egg-free and uses coconut flour which is low GI (gives you steady energy) and very high in fiber.
So why did the good doctor say that this low carb waffles recipe is something that delicate people should avoid? Why would he recommend a waffle for someone who needed the high-carb substance to survive?
In order to find a solution, Dr. Thomas Seyfried conducted some research and found a potential solution. Using keto diet strategies, he asked his participants to replace one regular meal every day with these very low-carb waffles, and he followed up with them every month for 2 years (and recorded their progress in various health markers). The results were striking; the participants lost about 15 kilograms over 2 years and had an increase in metabolic rate of about 25 percent.
There are 3 main ingredients in this recipe. Why almond flour? Why coconut flour? First, let's talk about the flours. In fact, if you could only use 2 types of flour (at most), I recommend using coconut flour and almond (or macadamia) flour. But in reality, you can use pretty much any type of vegetable or nut based stick based flour. Why dairy-free yogurt? Because it contains healthy bacteria that promote gut health and overall immunity. It also tastes great!
The high-fiber content of this recipe will give you steady energy to help you get through your day without that feeling of excess sugar hanging around in your bloodstream. The protein will help you feel full longer so that you're less likely to overeat. The fact that it's dairy free means it will be relatively low in carbohydrates and sugar. And the healthy fats will give you all the energy you need to do what needs to get done! It's got a delicious vanilla flavor (which means it can work for any meal) and there is no coconut taste at all. Plus, it's easy to store and reheat which makes it perfect for a busy lifestyle where time is especially important.
This recipe is a bit harder than some of the other recipes we've posted, but not too bad if you follow our instructions carefully. To start, you will need to mix together all the ingredients. Don't forget the baking powder and salt!
