About the Book

"The Karaoke King." is also collected in "The Jenny K Affair." Hank is a loser. He lives in a fantasy world that if he wins a local Karaoke contest his life will change for the better. It is a rough crowd. Enter Simon and Nat. Maybe they are Angels or maybe they are Demons. They interfere as opponents in the same contest as Hank. How can Hank match up against Simon and Nat and all the other contestants?
About the Author: The Karaoke King is a short story that first appeared in 1997 in chapbook form. I am Bradley Snow. In 1990 Downhome Publishing published my Horror novel, "ANDY". They were a successful newspaper and radio show at the time. They wanted to expand into the wonderful world of publishing. I heard about this and submitted a Horror novel called "The Flick". They agreed to publish it. I was asked if I had any other books for them to consider. I warned them that if I sent them "ANDY" that they would delay "The Flick" and go straight to "ANDY". This of course happened. Through "ANDY" I got to meet many people in the Horror field. I was invited as a guest to a Horror Convention in Chicago. When I got there I panicked. Things were happening too fast. It was still a great experience being a guest of a real live Horror Convention. I did form a professional relationship with the organizer of the convention. We struck a deal to collaborate on a book. A fantastic experience for me; however I was still new. I knew absolutely zero from the business end. There was a buzz created and some Publishers of Horror were interested. We did finish the first draft. It was a controversial book. Real life happened. We went our separate ways. My collaborator went to work for a Professional Detroit sports team. I went back to my job. I have held on to the manuscript for 23 years. Still not sure if the Horror world is ready as it would probably shock some of the greats of today, Ketchum, King, maybe even Clive Barker. I worked in the Publishing field on and off for about 20 years with different evolutions of General Publishing in Canada. It eventually became Simon & Schuster Canada Ltd. Health concerns changed my life in 1995. It got so bad I had to retire in 1997 at the ripe old age of 44. I continued to try to write. Eventually I felt my writing was at a professional level. At the World Horror Convention in Toronto a few years back I got to meet some of the big Editors at the time. They liked my pitches. I decided to try my luck with the Leisure Books option as I felt my work suited them at the time. The manuscript successfully made the rounds back to the deciding Editor ... and then the Leisure crash that I believe crippled the Horror publishing world. I eventually decided on self publishing as many in the Horror field decided. In 2012 I had "The Jenny K Affair" self published through RNU PRESS. In 2013 I had "Tear Of Gold" self published by Createspace. I hope you will try my books.
