Bei diesem einleitenden Satz, mit dem Immanuel Kant seine Grundlegung zur Metaphysik der Sitten beginnt, stellt sich mir als erstes die Frage, was Kant denn überhaupt unter einem guten Willen versteht und warum nur dieser für uneingeschränkt gut gehalten werden kann. Diese Fragen soll nun Gegenstand der vorliegenden Hausarbeit sein. Um zu verstehen, was Kant unter diesem Ausdruck versteht, werde ich zunächst versuchen, die Begriffe "gut" und "Wille" in Kants Sinne zu erklären um mit deren Hilfe den Begriff des guten Willens erläutern. Um zu verstehen, warum nur er als uneingeschränkt gut gelten kann und was das impliziert, werde ich zunächst den bedingten Wert der Natur- und Glücksgaben untersuchen. Hierbei lege ich besonderen Wert auf den Begriff des Charakters und die mit ihm verbundenen, nicht uneingeschränkt guten Eigenschaften. Die Fragestellung in diesem Abschnitt soll also sein, was es für Charaktereigenschaften gibt, die den guten Willen beeinflussen und ob diese unterschieden werden können in solche, die den guten Willen unterstützen und positiv vorantreiben oder ihm andererseits schaden und seine Wirkung negativ steuern. Außerdem werde ich hier die Frage klären, wie man nach Kant die wahre Glückseligkeit erlangt. Schließlich folgt die Erklärung, was unter dem Begriff des uneingeschränkt Gutem zu verstehen ist, warum das nur bei dem guten Willen der Fall sein kann und ich werde den einleitenden Satz auf mögliche unterschiedliche Lesarten, also unterschiedliche Interpretationsansätze, untersuchen.
