Was sich andert, wenn man dem hier eingeschlagenen Weg folgt? Man wird das vielstimmige Gesprach am Leben erhalten wollen, aber nicht um seiner selbst willen, sondern weil sich Wahrheit nur so und nur darin behaupten kann: als Wille zur Selbstbehauptung von Anspruchen, deren Rechtfertigungs- und Artikulationsformen unsere Identitaten konstituieren. Das komplexe Verhaltnis der Philosophie zu ihrer eigenen Geschichte ist nicht nur in philosophiehistorischen Darstellungen spatestens seit dem 18. Jahrhundert implizit prasent. Es wird auch in unterschiedlichen Thematisierungen der Frage, wie diese zu schreiben waren, immer wieder explizit verhandelt. Hegels Einleitung zu seinen Vorlesungen uber die Geschichte der Philosophie stellt diesbezuglich einen Hohepunkt dar und ist deshalb Ausgangspunkt fur die Uberlegungen im ersten Teil des Buches. Wie lasst sich das Verhaltnis historisch/systematisch auf systematische Weise fassen?, so lautet die Leitfrage, anhand derer verschiedene Ansatze (z.B. typologisierende oder wissenschaftstheoretische Dispositive) kritisch untersucht werden. Die Wendung aus Kants Kritik der reinen Vernunft von der Philosophie als 'Kampfplatz endloser Streitigkeiten' steht als Titel uber der Arbeit, weil die Philosophiegeschichte in dieser Perspektive als die in der Zeit entfaltete Faktizitat der Vielfalt philosophischer Positionen sichtbar wird. Diese Agonalitat zeigt sich nicht nur in philosophischen Kontroversen, sondern auch in konkreten Rezeptionsverhaltnissen. Diese sind Anverwandlungen. - Im zweiten Teil werden einzelne Positionen auf die Frage hin vorgenommen, wie sie mit dieser faktischen Pluralitat und mit der Tatsache, dass sich auch deren Thematisierung ihr nicht entziehen kann, umgehen. Reduktionistische Antworten werden ausgereiften Thematisierungen des Agnonalen - etwa bei Rawls, Rescher oder Lyotard - gegenuber gestellt. Am Ende stellt sich die Thematik wie folgt dar: Philosophieren heisst, auf dem Kampfplatz endloser Streitigkeiten zu intervenieren. Intervenieren heisst, sich mit Behauptungen zu behaupten. Jedes behauptende Sich-Behaupten verhalt sich in der einen oder anderen Weise zur Geschichte der Philosophie. Die hierbei eingeschlagenen Wege und die Narrationen sind in Abhangigkeit von der Interventionsstrategie zu verstehen. Die Wahrheitsanspruche philosophischer Interventionen konnen nur im Hinblick auf ihre moglichen Adressaten verhandelt werden. Die Wahrheitsanspruche sind auf irreduzible Weise plural.
About the Author: Der Autor: Jurg Berthold, geb. 1963, studierte in Zurich und Bristol Philosophie, Germanistik und Allgemeine und vergleichende Literaturwissenschaft. Er promovierte mit einer Arbeit zu Louis Althusser. Das vorliegende Buch ist seine Habilitationsschrift. Er ist Privatdozent fur Philosophie an der Universitat Zurich.
