Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2012 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Neuere Deutsche Literatur, Note: 1,0, Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Im Jahr 1998 gelang der 28-jährigen Judith Hermann ein Sensationserfolg. Ihr Erzähldebüt "Sommerhaus, später" wurde innerhalb kürzester Zeit zum Verkaufsschlager. Doch von Anfang an war die Berliner Autorin Judith Hermann viel mehr eine Inszenierung der deutschen Feuilletons, der Verlage und der Medien im Allgemeinen als ein neues literarisches Phänomen. Ihre Erzählungen in "Sommerhaus, später" wurden zum Seelensound ihrer Generation ausgerufen, und so wurde Judith Hermann zur Projektionsfläche für angesagte Stimmungen bei dreißigjährigen Berlinern und Lesern aus ganz Deutschland, die sich irgendwo zwischen Jugend und Beruf ansiedelten. Über zweihunderttausend Leser und Leserinnen nahmen die lobenden Kritiken namhafter Persönlichkeiten der literarischen Welt an, empfingen das Identifikationsangebot der Feuilletons dankend und feierten Judith Hermann als Stilikone ihrer eigenen Lebensweise. 2003 brachte die Autorin den Erzählband "Nichts als Gespenster" heraus, 2009 schließlich ihr bisher letztes Buch "Alice". Immer noch wird Judith Hermann aber an ihrem Erstlingswerk gemessen und steht damit unter hohem Erwartungsdruck. Doch die mittlerweile 42-jährige Autorin geht mit der Zeit; statt an einer Stimmung ihrer Generation aus den 90er Jahren festzuhalten, behandelt "Alice" das für Judith Hermann und die Leser ihrer Generation aktuellere Thema "Älter werden" und "Tod". Wie bei "Sommerhaus, später" und "Nichts als Gespenster" wurde "Alice", als das Buch auf den Markt kam, sehr medienwirksam in Szene gesetzt und inszeniert. Die Verlage, die Autorin und die Medien entwickeln dabei vor allem imageorientierte Verkaufskonzepte. In dieser Hausarbeit möchte ich versuchen zu erklären, wieso das "Phänomen Judith Hermann", vor allem aber ihr Erfolg, überwiegend auf ein bestimmtes Image der Autorin zurückzuführen ist.
