Adam, the first man, disobeyed God's command not to eat of the fruit of the tree in the midst of the Garden of Eden. That act of disobedience alienated him from God, his maker, and subjected him and all of humanity after him to the dominion of Satan. The world came into bondage to sin, and to the horrors of eternal condemnation and spiritual death.
But God, responding to the fall of man, initiated the redemptive process. He incrementally unveiled it in the Old Testament narratives in images, types and shadows through the institution of the Sabbath observance (culminating in the Jubilee), the celebration of the appointed Feasts of Israel, and the revelation of Jehovah God in His redemptive names.
Fast forward many centuries later, and we see Jesus, the Son of God, coming to the synagogue in Nazareth, on a glorious Sabbath day. He reads a profound scripture from the Book of Isaiah on the Jubilee, the acceptable year of the Lord, and follows it with an astounding, self-referential and self-invoking declaration: "This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears." (Luke 4:16-21). Hallelujah! Jesus has come to fulfil the Jubilee through and through!
It is altogether fascinating and intriguing how Jesus emerges in the New Testament scripts as the Mega Star - the eminently qualified Lord of the Sabbath, the personification of the Feasts of Israel, and the composite expression of all the redemptive names of Jehovah, the name which is above every name and which holds all the glory, authority, power and majesty of God.
"The Jubilee Mandate" is prayerfully crafted to showcase Jesus as God's anointed One, chosen before the foundation of the world to fulfil every detail of the Old Testament types and shadows with precision and accuracy. He brings to all who are bound by the shackles of sin, satanic oppression, sickness, poverty, premature death and eternal condemnation, FREEDOM and JUBILEE.
This is the Jubilee Mandate: Jesus completely obeyed the Father's Mandate; with zeal, compassion, power and the anointing of the Holy Spirit, He proclaimed the Jubilee that sets the captives free. And then He declared that, as the Father sent Him, so has He sent us, His body.
The Church, then, has the same Mandate of Jesus, even the Jubilee Mandate, to go into all the world, proclaiming salvation, healing the sick, casting out devils, demonstrating the power of God, and setting humanity free in Jubilee.
This book encourages the Church to tap into the treasures and spiritual assets of the Jubilee, and to intentionally and strategically transition into the "greater works" mode. May our passion for the lost be rekindled and our hearts set aflame by Holy Ghost fire to snatch the multitudes of lost souls from eternal damnation and purposefully shepherd them into the kingdom of God. The hour to do the works of God is now! The move of God is now! Jubilee is now!
