Melomakaron is a Greek sweet made basically from flour, semolina, oil, orange juice and honey.

Kourabies is a typical sweet spread widely throughout Greece and Cyprus, which is classified as traditional sweets, such as melomakarono, and which is usually prepared at Christmas.
All but all the children of the world, from the poorest to the richest, dream of living this sweet fairy tale every Christmas, of getting to know that kind gentleman with the white beard who travels in a hot air balloon, who he will not only lavish them with gifts but also many smiles.
Perhaps, the gentleman who is none other than Santa Claus will read to our little friends various stories related to the spirit of the days.
He may also tell them how he spent a whole year in the village where he lived, the jobs he did to earn a living, and how and where he got the gifts he gives them.
The letters that the children sent to Santa to tell him what presents they wanted, our generous and kind-hearted hero in his crimson and purple uniform returns them, having previously painted on each one a wonderful and enviable representation of himself looking with infinite love, the gift that every little one of us is looking for.
It is indeed very touching this particular movement because it declares that our Santa Claus with the chubby and rosy cheeks really loves and thinks with all his heart about our teasings and also all this effort testifies that he doesn't just want to leave them with a present and hey, where did I see you, where did I know you, but on the contrary, he really strives with all his strength, with his very soul to enlist this inexhaustible imagination of his to sweeten the hearts of our little friends by satisfying their every desire.
These mischievous creatures when they see all this wonderful treatment, feel great and terrible excitement and can't wait for when they arrive next Christmas to see him again and live again with the sweetest grandpa beautiful special moments which seem to take flesh and bones in a colorful house made of musky cinnamon sugar cookies!
Yes, indeed this smell spreads everywhere and thus complements and gives an amazing note to the whole atmosphere of the days.
And here I have to tell you a honey story that two twin siblings, Spyros and Fanoula, experienced some such sweet holidays with their parents and Santa Claus of course:

children are known to be impatient and feel excessive love for those who do show interest in them as they do everything to keep the adults' interest in them alive, and also if others do not have their attention constantly focused on the little ones mischievous little creatures, then woe and woe to them!
This is true beyond measure!
So here too, our Spyretos and our Fanoula, like the impatient, mischievous and kind-hearted children they are, this year they rehearsed many months before what they would write in their letter to Santa Claus, how they would ask him for their gifts, what exactly will they say to him, so that there is for them the desired result.
They wrote one letter after another without sending them of course, and when they were sure that this was indeed all they wanted to ask for then and only then did they choose the letter in which they explained in every detail what gifts they wanted and in what wrapping .
You see, our little pups wanted everything to be just the way they wanted it.
They expected everything to be perfect according to how they see perfection with their own eyes.
Specifically, Fanoula wrote the following to Santa Claus:
Dear Santa Claus, it's been a whole year since I've seen you.
I remember that last year, apart from the wonderful gift you brought me, we also had a fantastic time.
