About the Book

Why are we here? Why are we on this planet? Why am I going through this? Is this really life? Is this all there is? How do I escape depression? Ever thought this? Joe does. In the pit of his agony, he simply asks, "God, are you out there?" Suddenly, life and dreams become inter-twined, and he enters an amazing journey. Is God trying to answer his question? Or is he going insane? Regardless, his depression is killing his life and something has to change. Excerpt: Joe knew that Jesus had stepped into the boat just a few feet behind him. Again, like at Lazarus' tomb, over-whelming euphoria and emotions swept over him like a wave. He fought to remain in control, though he realized how odd his desire was... I'm dreaming. For anyone that is desiring fulfillment and purpose in life. For anyone searching for contentment and completeness. For anyone longing for relief and escape from depression. For the reader that enjoyed "Blue Like Jazz" by Donald Miller, "The Shack" by William Paul Young.
About the Author: Why did God bother keeping Heath Williams on this planet? Despite pleas to the creator to end his life and relieve him from a pit of hell called depression, there was a reason to keep him alive. The fact is; his story matters, and so does yours. Heath was not an aspiring best-selling author. His life was about making income, providing for his family, and doing the best he could, with the hope of achieving some sort of 'status' or 'level of living' in order to find happiness. But, hell came calling in the form of depression. His walk through the 'valley of the shadow of death' led to realizations that propelled him to make life-altering changes. Now he continues on his journey in a different direction. His desire is to help others find fulfillment, completeness, joy and purpose before their journey takes them through hell. For those in depression, there is relief and he wants to show them how to find it and grow out of their plight. Educated at the University of South Carolina, Spartanburg, the first 24 years of his adult life was focused on manufacturing management where he served in roles such as plant manager, supply chain manager, etc. Occasionally flirting with his real calling, he would serve in church roles, such as youth director, but had never answered the ultimate call for his life. At the bottom of the depression pit, ironically, he began discovering his purpose. During the climb out, he grew and began to prosper and knew early on, that sharing this journey had to happen. Many people are hurting and wondering aimlessly and falling into 'the pit'. Life is too short and valuable to be robbed of joy that is rooted in purpose, adventure, fulfillment, and completeness. Heath serves in many volunteer capacities with his church - one of the fastest growing churches in America. He serves in roles such as new ownership, care team, youth leading, etc. He desires to share God's Word in any setting provided - church, organization, or one-on-one. In addition, he relishes every opportunity to work in one of his businesses, and be with his family, wife Michele, and daughters Chelsea and Christa.
