About the Book
John's Book of Everyday Transformation offers layers of understanding about our place in the Universe and the magic inherent in our daily lives. The depths John's teachings reach allows us to discover and ignite our own individual spark of Creation, from which all our good originates. The teachings go beyond the mind and the power of positive thinking to show us how to explore, experience and work with all the vast levels of our being to bring about physical, emotional, mental and spiritual healing for ourselves and for the world.John Robert Norman began his study of metaphysics in 1956 with the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda. He then immersed himself in the gamut of mystical and spiritual traditions and the ancient mystery schools, in the study of comparative religions, both esoteric and exoteric, including the Rosicrucians, Unity, Science of Mind and the Kabbalah studies of the Builders of Adylum, a modern mystery school, which aspires to build the temple within and teaches that love is the only real power in the Universe. His lifelong studies, weave a solid foundation of practical teachings for healing and empowering our lives, teachings that rest on true science and the proven natural laws of the cosmos.John believed true teachings awaken the knowledge we already have within our own souls, instead of leaving us wrestling with ideas we have to try to believe in but that ultimately disappoint. Truth isn't something we have to understand but something we experience and simply know, and once known ripples through our lives changing everything. The information in each chapter logically builds from the preceding one, so that the reader is able to grow in understanding and naturally learn to directly apply the laws and principles of Creation to his or her life, from the most mundane to the gravest of situations.John's Book is equally valuable for those just beginning their spiritual exploration, as well as for those well along on their spiritual path. His teachings bring greater understanding to common topics like manifesting and the chakra system, for example. Meditations and visualizations are offered to enable the reader a direct experience of the teachingsIn 1982, after twenty-six years of study, John devoted himself to teaching, energy research and private counseling, His clientele were from all walks of life from the very wealthy to the poorest of poor and included physicians and nurses, psychiatrists, authors, artists and politicians, who were drawn to him from throughout the United States and several foreign countries. John was a gifted and generous healer and teacher, until his passing in 1997."We all must find a way to continually renew and enhance our lives spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically," John has said. "It can be no other way." His teachings are empowering in the most spiritual sense of the word and are urgent for the times in which we are living.
About the Author: Carol Schaefer, editor of John's Book of Everyday Transformation, first met John Robert Norman in 1984, when she'd gone to him for a psychic reading. She was searching to no avail for the son she'd surrendered for adoption. John not only pinpointed where her son lived, a place far from where she'd expected to find him, but he also accurately described the family. After finding her son, Schaefer had a revelation - John Norman received his information from her, so part of her always knew where her son was. Suddenly, the search for her son opened up another great search, this time to explore life's great mysteries. Because of John Norman, Schaefer was inspired to write her first book, The Other Mother (Soho Press, 1991) in part to help mothers and their children, separated by adoption, understand they'd always remained connected. NBC produced the television movie version in 1995, and the movie aired on Lifetime Television for eight years. Both the book and the movie continue to make a huge impact on many thousands of lives. John's teachings helped Schaefer to heal in ways she never thought possible, and she applied what she'd learned to help others. Ten years after they met, John Norman asked her to transcribe tapes of his classes for a book he'd envisioned. But he passed away too soon to realize his dream, and she set aside the transcripts. That we are all connected in a profound way to every part of the universe is the core of John Norman's teachings. Realizing his teachings had enriched her life immeasurably, Schaefer is fulfilling John Norman's dream, hoping that others will be helped as much as she has been. Schaefer is also the author four other books: Grandmothers Counsel the World: Women Elders Offer Their Vision for Our Planet (Shambhala, 2006), which was translated into twelve languages; Searching for Healing After Reunion, the sequel to The Other Mother; Mary Queen of Scots, which she has adapted into a full-length screenplay; and a novel, An Ancient Tear. Her play, The Sacred Virgin, was produced in New York City. Schaefer has appeared on Good Morning America, CNN, MSNBC, and many local television and radio programs around the country and in Canada. She has often been a keynote speaker and given numerous workshops at adoption conferences in the United States, Canada and Italy. Schaefer earned her B.A. in Psychology from Winthrop University, where she was selected for Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities.
