About the Book

Jobby Topper is the man you will love to hate to love. He is a clever man and also an idiot, I suppose you could call him an Idiot Savant.Jobby is a middle aged man who lives in a wing of his wealthy Mother and Fathers house. He has a very healthy income from his dad who loves him very much. However his mother sees him as a lazy good for nothing freeloader. Mum tells Jobby that he has to get a job and make his own way. Once he proves that he can hold a job down he can leave the job and marry his girlfriend Julie. He has a group of friends who all drink in the same pub, he likes his friends but they don't like him. However for some reason unknown to them they also love him, and would do anything to protect him.During the coarse of this book he manages to form a Pop Group with the lads and produces a Pop Song called the Clog lis which gets to number one in the charts and springboards the lads onto a tour of the USA. The also develop a dance to go with the single called the Clog Dance.Jobby has a fight with a Gay, Dwarf, Waiter in a bar in Peuto Banus Spain. He starts and Airline, and manages to bring Manchester Airport to a stand still within 15 minutes of getting a job in security to help the Airport run smoothly. One of the stories that he is involved is: Bruce: During the war, I had weekend leave and I was stationed in Newcastle with the RAF but my family were in London.Yeah Bruce? I was living in the smoke during the war too. (I need to point out that Jobby was born in 1963, long after the war was over. Bruce was born in 1956 also long after the war ended).Yes, Topper, (Bruce always called Jobby, Topper).Anyway, I was in the RAF and my Commander offered to let me have use a Jet for the weekend to go see my wife and family."Yeah Bruce? they used to let me take aircraft carriers if I needed to go on holiday while the war was on because they knew I might need it if I was called in to conflict. But I can't tell you any more than that lads. Jobby touched the side of his head for some reason so the lads would know not to push him on the subject. "know what I mean lads?""Really Topper? Well! I decided to fly the direct route down to London to save some time and as I approached Dartford I could see the German Fleet Luftwaffe towards me ready to drop bombs on the city below.""Yeah Bruce? We had that every night when I was having dinner, didn't bother me though!""OK Topper, anyway to get away from them I decided to dip down into the Dartford tunnel to avoid conflict.""That's exactly what I was going to say I would do Bruce. This is great mate. What happened next?""Well I was going through the tunnel and all of a sudden I could see a bus approaching me""Yes Bruce, what did you do?" "I turned sideways and scraped down the side of the bus""I know you did Bruce. What do you mean you know?""I was on the Bus"
