About the Book

Many of us have the need to find answers to life's mysteries; others feel content with what is. Louise has never been one of those contented souls. The endless stream of questions arising about her purpose in life and her personal dilemma about being born as a German in a post-war, post-Holocaust Germany, prompted her to go on a soul-searching journey. The book starts with a life-changing event, as Louise felt compelled (after an illuminating experience during a workshop about the Collective Unconscious) to give an impromptu talk in front of 450 people. Tears and emotions were abundant, but, unbeknown to Louise, almost half the audience were Jewish people, who showered her with Hebrew greetings, smiles and gratitude for her honest account of her life and feelings. On leaving the lecture hall, women first, she sees a young man, distinctly Jewish looking and without a doubt from another time. Louise finds herself in another dimension of 'reality' and discovers, that only she was able to see the 'Jewish Ghost'. This encounter was kept a secret by her for many years, while she was trying to find answers. Who was this young man? Why could only she see him? What had happened to her at that moment in time? Louise reflects on her childhood, fond memories of a local Gypsy community, her Catholic education, the possibility of re-incarnation, her professional life and marriage and how a move to London, with her husband, changed her way of feeling about 'being German' (this lifetime) forever. Life unfolded in a most challenging manner. Following her divorce, her German/Jewish dilemma started to impact even on her love life. Moving close to a personal crisis, exacerbated by work related stress, Louise finds a way out. A strong inner calling to go to India and meet the Holy Man, Sai Baba, takes her on a journey of self-discovery and healing. She did not know if her job was waiting for her on return, as the Gulf War started and her boss warned her not to leave, but she knew that she had to go, whatever the consequences.. She writes a daily diary through which we get a colourful glimpse of her love for India. As luck would have it, she also has a personal interview with Sai Baba, witnessing a stream of 'out of the ordinary' occurrences. Miracles, perhaps? The book has been described as 'compelling reading' by many people some of whom were taken by surprise by the uncompromising honesty and openness of writing. Louise's attempts to make sense of some extremely challenging situations in her life is heart-warming, often funny, especially her descriptions of the New Age workshops she had taken part in, but at other times, we may feel her pain and can be moved to tears. However, Louise is adamant that her pain is not special '...everyone experiences pain', but that it is the message of transformation and healing, the possibility of waking up to a different way of being and thinking that she wishes to express and share with one and all.
