About the Book

This book looks at the historic Jesus through the eyes of two merchant travelers - Malcus and Cleopas. Two thousand years ago, in the semi-arid land of Palestine, these travelers come across a new style Preacher. The ordinary and downtrodden people have taken great comfort in his message. His message was simple: know that the trials and tribulations and pains and hardships of this world are temporary. Soon you will enter another world - a world of peace and happiness. What was so extraordinary about this message that attracted many followers? Moses gave the Law to children of Jacob. But those laws were harsh and inconvenient for the rabbis. They invented the Talmud. It found ways to circumvent and contradict and thwart Moses's law. The Talmudic Pharisaism became dominant among the children of Jacob. That is when Jesus came on the scene. Jesus cursed out the Pharisaic Talmudism. He called them 'a brood of vipers' and 'the children of devil'. Jesus tried to bring back the Mosaic Law. Jesus said he did not bring a new Law, but he came to fulfill or re-establish the Law of Moses. The Pharisees and scribes and chief Priest conspired to kill him. They crucified Jesus. Any man who is hung on a tree was considered an accursed person under Law of Moses. The Priests thought by crucifying Jesus, and thereby proving that he was an accursed person and not a prophet, people would stop following him. But then the unexpected happened: Jesus came back to life on the third day and thereby fulfilling one of his own prophecies that he will come back to life after three days, like the prophet Jonah. Prophet Jonah was in the belly of a fish for three days and three nights. He did not die. He came out alive. Jesus was in the belly of earth for three days and three nights and then he came out alive. Resurrection of Jesus proved that he was in fact a prophet and his followers multiplied. Merchant travelers Marcus and Cleopas have witnessed some of the events in the life of Jesus. Their discussions will definitely open your eyes. May this be a significant work of modern times, about historic Jesus.
