ABOUT THIS STORYThe story begins while Jessy, along with her lover and soul mate Lilly Wong, are out on the town for an evening of celebration when they are suddenly abducted off the street by the local mafia.
After being released only one month ago from ten long years in prison for burglary crimes, Jessy is determined to have a peaceful, crime-free life. But her old underworld associate, crime boss Chevy Ray, has different plans for her. She's given an ultimatum, with a narrow deadline of 48 hours, to burglarize a certain bank where over a million in cash awaits within its vault.
She has no choice but to do the job that ultimately puts her life and freedom on the line. But this time it's not about the money, it's to rescue Lilly, who is now being held hostage by Chevy Ray until Jessy brings him the money. If the burglary isn't successful, Lilly will die a slow and painful death, starting with the amputation of her fingers, one at a time. But even If successful, Jessy could unwittingly be walking into a trap that will destroy her along with all she holds dear.
Follow Jessy through this do or die mission as she struggles with acute claustrophobia, an old gunshot wound that never properly healed, primal rage syndrome, pain medication addiction, and toxic family dynamics. To cast even more doubt on the likelihood of her success, the bank job must be executed during the most epic thunder and lightning storm in recorded history.
ABOUT JESSY McKENZY
Jessy grew up on a farm where she was bulled, abused, and frequently confined to a barn cellar where she was sexually assaulted by her step-father until she was old enough to run away. The traumatic experiences left her with acute claustrophobia and primal rage syndrome, along with a deep sense of anger, fear, and hatred toward men in general. When she became an adult after spending her teen years in foster care homes, she reunited with her two brothers, Louis and Chester, to form the McKenzy Crime Trio.
Under the leadership of Jessy, known for her short temper, creative wit, vulgar vocabulary, and filthy sense of humor, the trio began their crime spree that lasted for over a decade. They specialized in burglarizing small retail stores at first but would eventually evolve to banks, jewelry stores, art galleries, and mansions. At some point their activities caught the attention of local crime boss Chevy Ray who recruited them as his exclusive contractors.
By the time Jessy reached the age of thirty-four, she had enough money to comfortably retire from crime and decided to call it quits while the going was good. Chevy Ray had one last job for the crime trio but as bad luck would have it, they got busted. During an on-foot pursuit that led to her capture, Jessy was shot by RCMP constable Murphy, giving her the gift of a crippled leg for life. Jessy would unfortunately encounter Murphy again after her ten year prison term, resulting in some very dark consequences.
