About the Book

Jehovah's Shield: The Chinese Conundrum(The Chinese Conundrum is the second book in the Jehovah's Shield series.)Several Chinese archeologists are using the vast resources and facilities of the Snelling Institute in Wyoming to advance their knowledge about past cultures in their northwest territories near Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The Snelling Institute's computer system and archeological data files are unequalled in the world and are offered free of charge to help all nations advance their research. It is through a casual conversation with a member of the Chinese team that the Institute learns that the Chinese feel that one of the lost tribes of Israel passed through that area and influenced the tribes living there. This news is a possible lead to finding another lost Inlay from Jehovah's Shield. Privately, the Snelling Institute sends their own research teams to the area to area and discover that an ancient Chinese silk trader, Yi Shi Ping, established a trade route from the Middle East up through the Fergana Valley, and then travelled through the mountain canyons of Kyrgyzstan to reach northwest China. Further research determines that two of the tribes of Israel, Asher and Issachar, travelled with him through that area. Garrett and Lisa Hawk join the Snelling Institute's teams in that area and start the quest to find another Inlay. At the start of their quest they come in contact with a shaman culture that holds the key to finding Asher's Inlay. They soon find out that the shaman priest's possess the power to transcend time and prolong their lives until their purpose on earth is fulfilled. These same priests have the ability to look into the other-world and visit the past or future while within a self-imposed trance. The Hawks find that they need the services of these priests to retrieve three sacred totems that are the key to finding the Inlay. As the Hawks and the shaman priests follow the trail that Yi Shi Ping took centuries ago, they find that Yi Shi Ping enlisted the power of the shamans and their gods to protect the totems. The Hawks find they have to battle ancient warriors and mystical dragons that they always thought were just mythological creatures. Both Lisa and Garrett are gravely wounded during these battles and need the healing potions and powers of the shaman priest to recover from their injuries. When they have the three Totems in their possession, the Hawks find they must go to a secret shaman tomb located under a palace in the Forbidden City in Beijing to retrieve Asher's Inlay. It is in Beijing that Lo Chan, a minister of the Communist regime, sees them and gives chase through China to capture them. The Hawks barely make it out of China and into the safety of Mongolia before they head back to the Institute with the new found Inlay. The Hawks are in the Snelling Institute's new solarium when they test the Inlay in Jehovah's Shield. The beam of light created by Jehovah's Shield is so strong that in can be seen miles away at the CIA's weapons test site. Guido Caramonte, an illicit weapons dealer partially supported by the CIA, observes the beam of light produced by Jehovah's Shield and assumes it must be a laser weapon; one stronger that he ever imagined. Guido tries to purchase what he thinks is a laser weapon from the Snelling Institute and is curtly rebuffed. Guido then vows to obtain the laser at all costs and becomes the number one enemy of the Hawks in their quest for new Inlays.
