Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2010 im Fachbereich Theaterwissenschaft, Tanz, Note: sehr gut, Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main (Theater-, Film- und Medienwissenschaft.), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Ich werde versuchen herauszuarbeiten, dass die Liveness eines Ereignisses als ein zusätzlicher, das Werk auratisierender Wert gilt, der unabhängig von dem Gegenstand auf den wir uns beziehen, den wir glauben zu konsumieren, funktioniert. Dabei sein, Zeuge sein ist das, wofür der zeitgenössische Zuschauer sein Geld ausgibt, weil er glaubt, dem "Aufstand der Gegenwart", etwas, das potentielle Geschichte machen wird, einem 'echten' Ereignis, beizuwohnen. Dabei handelt sich um eine Art kollektive Energie, welche man später als Zeuge seinen Mitmenschen nur mit dem Satz: "Das kann ich dir nicht beschreiben, da muss man dabei gewesen sein", vermitteln kann. Um der Frage auf den Grund zu gehen, ob und in welcher Weise diese Emphase für die Live-Performance berechtigt ist, möchte ich zunächst versuchen, das Phänomen live zu definieren und herauszuarbeiten, was für Konnotationen wir diesem Wort geben, was wir uns von diesem Phänomen versprechen und inwiefern die Tatsache, dass ein Event live ist (was auch immer das bedeuten mag) tatsächlich mit diesen Ansprüchen zu tun hat. Dabei berufe ich mich hauptsächlich auf zwei performancetheoretische Texte: Das wäre einerseits Peggy Phelans Buch UNMARKED. The politics of performance, in welchem sie sich klar als Vertreterin der Live-Performance zu erkennen gibt. In der "manisch aufgeladenen Präsenz" von Live-Performances sieht sie eine Möglichkeit, sich der Objekthaftigkeit und Sichtbarkeit der Kunst zu entziehen. Andererseits beziehe ich mich auf Phillip Auslanders Arbeit LIVENESS. Performance in a mediatized culture, welche ihrerseits direkt auf Phelans Theorien antwortet. Hierin vertritt Auslander die These, dass Liveness ein Konzept ist, das an eine überholte, mit mystischen Werten aufgeladene Vorstellung von Kuns
