About the Author: Prof. Dr. Markus A. Launer ist ordentlicher Professor für ABWL und Dienstleistungsmanagement an der Ostfalia Hochschule für angewandte Wissenschaften. Seine weiteren Spezialgebiete sind Internationales Management, eBusiness, Controlling, Finanzierung, Unternehmenskommunikation und Investor Relations sowie Wissenschaftliches Arbeiten. Zuvor war er Gastdozent an der Fachhochschule Wolfenbüttel für Strategie und Innovationsmanagement sowie für Controlling und Internationales Management an der Fresenius Hochschule und der Hamburg School of Business Administration. Er hat über 20 Jahre Erfahrung in der Finanz- und Unternehmenskommunikation, mit Kapitalmarktmaßnahmen sowie Marketing und Corporate Controlling, davon neun Jahre in den USA. Er arbeitete für die Hoechst AG und SGL Carbon AG sowie SGL Carbon Inc. in Charlotte, N.C., die Philipp Holzmann AG, Altana Inc. in New York und Merck KGaA sowie als sowie Geschäftsführender Gesellschafter von Transatlantic Investor Relations LLC (New York und Frankfurt) für zahlreiche weitere Unternehmen von DAX30 bis SDAX. In New York war er im Vorstand der German American Chamber of Commerce New York Inc. Launer absolvierte sein betriebswirtschaftliches Studium an den Universitäten Mannheim und Köln und erlangte den europäischen Ph.D. an der Tallinn University of Technology. Er ist Herausgeber zahlreicher Bücher im Bereich Investor Relations, Corporate Governance und der Koordination ausländischer Tochtergesellschaften multinationaler Unternehmen. 1993 wurde er ausgezeichnet mit dem Marketing Preis der Dr. Carl Clemm und Dr. Carl Haas Preis der PWA Waldhof GmbH.
