About the Book

Who was Jackie Kennedy?

Elegant and poised even in moments of extreme crisis: Jackie Kennedy was a role model for women of her time and continues to remain so today. What are the elements that composed such an iconic public figure and a revered celebrity in the fashion world as well? Though her wardrobe revealed her impeccable taste, it was not simply her outfits that made her so celebrated as a paragon of style. It was also how she presented herself: her graceful mannerisms and speech. She used all the components of self-presentation to her advantage.

Jackie Kennedy is a timeless figure of grace, strength, and style. Following her example, women everywhere can adopt her elegance as a model for when we need to look our best in the public eye -whether we are giving an important presentation, making a speech in front of an audience, or even simply sharing our thoughts at a minor meeting. No matter the size of the crowd, Jackie carried herself admirably and let her strength shine through.

Praise from other Readers:

Insightful and interesting biography, the author provides plenty of details and stories about her life.

To be honest, the only things I knew about her were that she came from a wealthy family, was married to JFK, and was considered a fashion icon. This biography, of course, went well beyond that information. I was particularly interested in reading about her childhood as well as her life after the Presidents assassination. Its clear that the author really did his research to make this book as informative as possible.

Insightful and interesting biography, the author provides plenty of details and stories about her life.

A wonderful book that gave me more insight into the life of Jackie.

This book taught me a few things I had never known about such as the fact Jackie went through PTSD after the death of her husband and developed obsessive remembering, guilt, helplessness, angry outbursts; suicidal threats and fears of being the next target..

Browns biography of Jackie Kennedy Onassis is both strong, gripping, and well-written. We see her life play out in a descriptive, linear fashion with an intriguing murder-mystery-like narrative style. I enjoyed this book quite a lot and found a lot of the information to not only be easy to read and get into, but found the story of her life to be strong and raw...

I was interested in getting to know about the biography of Jackie Kennedy and thats where I made the decision to purchase this book. It is one of the best inspirational books that I have ever read in my life.

The strength and courage that Jackie had taught many new lessons. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in getting to know about Jackie.

The best written account I have ever read about Jackie Kennedy...

Wonderful portrait of an American icon
