About the Book

The 40 achievement principles discussed in "It's Time for the Motivator are aimed to challenge you to soul search and connect intimately with your passions. It is anticipated that you will confront seemingly impractical, uncomfortable, radical choices that will change your life as you reinvent yourself to live the life you desire. For some, it may mean finally completing the college degree put on hold. For others, it may mean making the decision to start a business. While for some, it may mean walking away from unhealthy relationships. The 40 achievement principles have also been attributed to guiding people away from a life scripted for them to living a life uniquely designed by them. Sadly, achievement in our society has become synonymous with the pride of climbing the corporate ladder, earning lots of money, and living a life of luxury. From my perspective, you can have all of the above, yet still feel inadequate. The 40 achievement principles promote living a life you are passionate about, not necessarily one that will make you wealthy. In my readings and examination of highly successful people, I discovered many do not consider themselves as "successful". In their minds they were either unhappy or felt they had missed the mark in living at full capacity. Paradoxically, these individuals have many external markers and material possessions symbolizing success, yet they view themselves as underachieving largely because there is a lack of joy. In essence, they are not living a life of purpose and passion. What I concluded from their lives, as well as my own, is that achievement is about being happy from deep within. If achievement is defined as steps on a ladder, then chasing success will take on the life of an addict chasing the next high. I believe that if you live comfortably and work in a field or capacity that brings you joy and fulfillment, then you are living up to your full potential. It is important to recognize and internalize that you have everything you need to achieve your God-given purpose. My hope is that you have the courage to separate yourself from the middle of the pack and embrace your full potential. Regardless of the current stage of your life, I have one word of advisement: Persevere! As you undertake the quest to achieve living your best life, resolve to push beyond challenges and obstacles with an attitude and expectation that you will win. When we cling to people, places, and things that no longer serve a purpose in our life, we make change more difficult. Begin by detoxing on comfort and complacency in exchange for an elixir of vulnerability and transparency. Just like the butterfly, your life can be transformed to bring forth your most brilliant self. In keeping with the butterfly analogy, you must go through distinct phases of struggle, strength, and freedom in preparation to soar towards greatness. If you incorporate these concepts into your everyday life, what once seemed insurmountable becomes vividly achievable. Let's Go to Work! Dr. Quinn Motivates
