About the Book

HIS SKILL AT NEUTRALIZING EVIL SCHEMES IS LEGENDARY

A three thousand year old scroll written by a famous king has been unearthed in a cave in the Holy Land. The ancient scroll consists of incredible lessons in human observation and lie detection.

Daniel Jacobson was trained in these skills where he put them to use as an Israeli Intelligence operative and then as an anti-terrorist/crime investigator. Daniel's nearly superhuman skills of observation and lie detection made him a force to be reckoned with by anyone looking for trouble. Years later as he surprisingly begins a vocation as a priest in the Catholic Church, he discovers that trouble doesn't look for him; it always knows where he is!

DEATH FROM THE FOREST'S EDGE

People are dying at the hands of a brutal serial killer. The murderer bursts out of the woods bordering the California cities of Gilroy and Morgan Hill to commit his deadly handicraft in seconds and disappear like a will o the wisp back into the shadowy forest from which he came. Despite the impressive law enforcement task force assembled to bring this killer to justice, police investigators can find no connection between any of the victims, and the few clues they've found only indicate the following: the murderer appears to have superhuman or paranormal powers.

As the body count rises, task force member Sheriff Deputy Jill Cardoza realizes that the only hope her task force has at stopping this murderer may rest in the hands of this unusual Catholic priest with a legendary skill for exposing any secret or scheme. . .

HE IS THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN STOP THE KILLING

Fr. Daniel's impressive skills and abilities will be put to a deadly test as he encounters piece after piece of a horrific puzzle which will lead him to unmask this ruthless killer and be plunged into a shattering encounter with a terrible secret from the Church's past.

When at last he unearths the truth, it will draw him into a long - buried secret of horrible injustices in the Church, a vengeful spirit . . . and the lethal cost of laying that spirit to rest.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Ephrain Tristan Ortiz is a Dr. of Christian Education, Biblical Hebrew teacher and 6th degree Black Belt who has been a mystery fan since he got a Sherlock Holmes book at age 10. He discovered a love for story telling back then, something he used to help time pass by faster for himself and his Catholic school classmates for eight years. He noticed that people enjoyed his stories the most when they were action-packed, creepy, funny and inspiring while maintaining an attitude of respect and clean fun. Decades later, his stories still contain these characteristics and always will.
