About the Book

Islam Rising is a gripping fiction debut from Johnny Jacks that sets the stage for his post-apocalyptic series, Patriots and Infidels.

Grayson Dean, Houston detective and combat-hardened Green Beret, is thrown into a chaotic trajectory when personal tragedy destroys his fundamental purpose as a man and changes the course of his life. Learning that economic collapse will eventually push America into a state of anarchy, he organizes and prepares the Southwest Texas Patriots militia to face the coming chaos. While struggling to lay his past to rest, Grayson finds himself conflicted over the two women vying for his love, meets a surprise entry into his life, and contends with a fatal failure in judgement that causes his son to despise and ostracize him.

Grayson and Carlos Murtadha, archenemies, are each determined to kill the other for unforgivable atrocities. Only toward the end does Grayson realize that Murtadha is a powerful Islamic terrorist leader under the control of Imam Omar, an even more powerful Islamic holy man. Imam Omar contrives his master plan to form hundreds of clandestine terrorist cells in the United States using non-Middle Eastern converts to Islam, men who blend with the local populace without suspicion.

Omar assigns Carlos Murtadha, a psychopath and direct descendant of Mohammed, to lead the cells of the Southwest. He sends Murtadha and his jihadists to Africa to fight with ISIS to gain combat experience, lose any sense of compassion for non-Muslims, and make ready to kill American infidels, enslave their women and children, and impose Sharia law.
About the Author: Johnny Jacks was born in Alabama six months before D-Day to semi-literate sharecropper parents. His family lived a self-reliant lifestyle the first ten years of his life off-grid, off city water, without indoor plumbing, and without assistance from the national welfare state-which did not exist then. On his seventeenth birthday, he enlisted in the Air Force, later transferring to the Army, where he became a Special Forces soldier and began an eighteen-year career serving on Special Forces A-teams in Europe, Asia, and Central America, including a combat assignment to Special Forces A-team 102, Tien Phuoc, Vietnam, 1967-1968. He became proficient in guerrilla warfare strategies and tactics, radio communications, intelligence gathering, and guerrilla group organization and operations. After retiring from the Army in 1982, Jacks worked for several government agencies over the next twenty-five years in national security and emergency preparedness programs. Those roles provided him with knowledge of the national security policy related to continuity of government and continuity of operations, with insight into what will take place with America's senior leadership when the Schumer hits the fan and the nation falls into a state of anarchy. Jacks lives with his wife on their farm in the Appalachian foothills of North Alabama, where he enjoys gardening, animal husbandry, and writing. His hobbies include traveling, gold prospecting, hunting, and fishing.
