About the Author: Khurram Ali Shafique is an historian and educationist, and the author of biographies, screenplays and numerous articles in English and Urdu languages. He is the founding director of the Marghdeen Learning Centre, which provides unique online courses on Iqbal's philosophy, and he is also a research consultant at the Iqbal Academy, Pakistan. Shafique's publications include 2017: The Battle for Marghdeen (2012), The Republic of Rumi: A Novel of Reality (2007), Samandar Ki Awaz Suno (Urdu, 1993) and a comprehensive biography of Iqbal in Urdu in six volumes (three of which have been published so far). He wrote the TV movie Iqbal: An Approach to Pakistan (2009). His Iqbal: an Illustrated Biography (2006) won the Presidential Iqbal Award in 2011, and has since been translated into a number of languages. At present he is working on a new biography on Cyrus the Great (title forthcoming).
