Wie darf diese Aussage verstanden werden? Das Kind, welches in der gewöhnlichen Lebenssituation nicht handeln kann wie es der Erwachsene vollzieht, schafft sich durch das Spiel eine fiktive Wirklichkeit, welche die Befriedigung seiner eigenen Bedürfnisse ermöglicht. Dem gegenüber steht eine Wirklichkeitskategorie, die nie aufhört zu sein - der reale Alltag. Im Spiel ist ein Bereich gefunden, der sich von der "ernsthaften", festgelegten und festlegenden Wirklichkeit und ihrem hohen Wirklichkeits- und Verbindlichkeitscharakter abhebt. Spielen ist eine andere Wirklichkeit mit anderen Funktionen und Wirkungen, d. h. es ist unverbindlicher, freier sowie offener. Das Kind realisiert sein Bedürfnis auf verschiedene Art und Weise, d. h. es kann Lehrer, Elternteil, Arzt, ... werden, während es in seinem Leben und im realen Alltag zu keiner Zeit eine dieser Personen werden könnte. Weil das Kind sich den Verhaltensprinzipien der genannten Personen unterstellt, erlernt es die Normen der Gesellschaft, wobei es sich diesen unterordnet. Es versetzt sich in eine Rolle. Mit "Rollenspiel" ist das Spielen der Kinder im frühkindlichen bzw. vorschulischen Alter gemeint, bei dem die Kinder Personen darstellen, die sie in ihrem Alltag selber nicht sind.1 Durch die Fähigkeit des Perspektivenwechsels bereitet das Spiel das Kind auf das Gesellschaftsleben vor, da das Kind nur das tut, was ihm Spaß und Freude bereitet. Eng damit verbunden ist der bedeutsame Anteil der Phantasie, durch welchen es zur Umwandlung und Neuschaffung der Wirklichkeit kommt. Diese Art schöpferischen Spiels trägt eine selbstständige Erkenntnisleistung in sich, da Wirklichkeit neu bewertet
