Desde hace más de una década la investigación sobre el problema de la violencia en las escuelas ha extendido sus objetivos, métodos, herramientas y propuestas al considerar entre sus indagaciones el asunto de la convivencia escolar. El puente de comprensión que se ha construido entre ambos fenómenos ha adquirido paulatinamente mayor consolidación, de tal modo que el fenómeno de la violencia no puede entenderse si una noción clara respecto al significado de la convivencia. En apego a este hecho, el presente libro hace hincapié en tal relación y presenta nueve capítulos que la abordan desde diferentes perspectivas: en algunos casos, el énfasis recae en pormenorizadas revisiones de la trayectoria de la elaboración de políticas públicas respecto a la violencia en Francia, España y México.
