About the Book

Why will Student self-esteem and responsibility become empowerment when teacher can coach relationship to them ?Why does teacher teaching attitude influence student learning attitude? Is teacher teaching attitude a major to influence student learning attitude to compare other factors?Historically, teachers have been trained as evaluators, that is correcting wrong answers to grading student responses and measuring performance. Because teacher and students are part of the same team, working together for a common purpose. Given that students are likely to have a history of dealing with teachers in an evaluate mode, it will probably take some time for students to learn to trust this new kind of relationship.Teachers need to know that coaching is student centered, in coaching, it is the students who are selling goals and making progress in the direction they have set for their lives. Coaching is not an arena for the teacher on his or her infinite wisdom or to lecture or moralize. The focus is on helping students discover who they are, where they're going, and how they can get there. The coaching relationship supports students in the processes of self-discovery and self direction and enhanced student's sense of personal power, self-confidence, and self worth. The effective of the relationship is built in the essential dignity and worth of all students and a trust in their ability to be autonomous and responsible individuals. The role of the coach is to relate to students in a respectful, non judgmental and trusting manner that allows students to explore, discover, set goals, and make commitments to directions that they have envisioned for themselves. So, effective coaching focuses on the student changing his or her behavior in order to be more successful, . The worth of the students is never in question, nor is the student's potential ever doubted. Responsibility for changes rests with the students, not with the teacher. As coach, you need to support the student, not to change him or her. However, change occurs naturally in the context of acceptance. Some ways to guide a teacher's coaching efforts, e.g. get permission from the student to serve, in this way, at the time, in relation to this issue, determine at the outset the purpose and intended results of the interaction, stay within agreed on areas for exploration, this is essential to building trust, be nonjudgmental, teacher needs to know that he/she is as a support system, not as an evaluator, critic or parent and avoid imposing your opinions and values to your students, asking questions that are open-ended, exploratory, and directed towards discovery . Avoid having a right answer in mind, ought having perhaps right answer in mind, be willing to not know, trust the process, be willing to be a fellow explorer, and let go of having to be the expert, looking for the next appropriate question to arise from the preceding statement. Finally, acknowledge the student and celebrate successes along the way.
