About the Book

Luke spotted his mother lying on the ground in front of their home, blood dripping from her mouth and her flawless brown eyes open and vacant. Letting go of Nikki's hand he ran dashing in her direction. Nikki followed with such quickness she almost beat him there. The light that had been protecting them vanished, when it did the chaos began again. Landing on his knees upon reaching her with tears streaming down his face he gently closed Kimber's eyes. Nicole had come up behind him a placed her hand on his shoulder as he gathered up his mother's limp body and carried her into the tent. In the depths of the hut their eyes fell to the others. On the floor her parents Raven and Neveah were locked in an embrace. The odd thing was there was no trauma on the outside of their bodies but their eyes were empty of life. Luke's father Leo was at the back of the hut with a spear protruding from his chest. Gently placing his mother's lifeless body carefully on the ground he rushed to his father, Nicole wearily fell to the floor where her parents lay. As he reached his father's body and began to pull the spear from his chest he saw a movement within the shadow. Glancing down at Nicole while she was weeping over her parents then back the motion, he grabbed the spear and flung it at the man who had stepped out into sight and was reaching for her. The spear went through him and into the canvas that made up the wigwam. Nicole became aware of the man as the spear flew through the air behind her as she turned to see why Luke had thrown it. She began to scream. The ghost of the man began to call to her. In one motion she was up and across the room standing beside Luke. Clasping hands the light erupted from them again. Their fear of the man was overcome by the anger of what had been done to their parents. As their rage grew a white mist developed and crept through every crevice of the hut. The man cowered from the emerging rainbow and vanished back into the shadows. The haze of the mist clouded over the entire area and a vision of the lady and her consort the lord appeared in front of them at the same time. They stood in silence just watching Nikki and Luke as the cotton colored air engulfed them and expanded outward to all of those that were there in the village, the dead and the living. A deep voice along with the voice of the lady penetrated their ears. They spoke in unison. 'You are being taken to another place where it will be safe. All will be taken. When the fog is released you all will be moved.' Images that were painted onto hides and hung about the hut began to come to life.
