Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2005 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Komparatistik, Vergleichende Literaturwissenschaft, Note: 1,3, Universität Lüneburg, Veranstaltung: Geschichte des europäischen Romans. Von Don Quixote bis zur Blechtrommel, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Selten verzichten literarische Werke auf Bezugnahmen. Diese ermöglichen es dem Autor eine Begebenheit aus seiner privaten, direkten Umgebung oder aber aus einem größeren gesellschaftlichen Umfeld mit dem Schreiben aufzuarbeiten und gleichzeitig dem Rezipienten zu eröffnen und näher zu bringen. So nimmt auch die Autorin Virginia Woolf in ihren Werken Bezug auf Menschen aus ihrem direkten Umfeld. Sie sagt selbst das Schreiben habe für sie eine ähnlich Funktion wie ein Psychoanalyse. Sie befreie sich dadurch von Emotionen und Gefühlen die sie lange Zeit beschäftigten und in gleichem Maße belasteten. So beschreibt sie in ihrem Roman To the Lighthouse, wenn auch nicht in Form einer reinen Biographie, sondern fiktional erweitert, ihre Kindheit in Cornwall. Zusätzlich zu diesen biographischen Zusammenhängen lassen sich besonders im ersten Teil des dreigeteilten Romans Bezüge zu anderen Autoren finden. Neben der bloßen Nennung des Namens, wie beispielsweise Marcel Proust, als eine Form der Bezugnahme, bekommt Intertextualität in diesem Zusammenhang besondere Bedeutung. Obwohl sich im Roman mehrfach derartige Bezüge auf Werke anderer Autoren wie z.B. Alfred Lord Tennysons Gedicht The Charge of the Light Bridge und Shakespeares Sonett 98 finden lassen, scheint jedoch im ersten Teil die intertextuelle Einbindung des Märchens Der Fischer und seine Frau der Brüder Grimm zu dominieren. Erstmals wurde das Märchen vermutlich vom Maler Philipp Otto Runge 1806 auf Plattdeutsch aufgezeichnet und mit seiner Erlaubnis später von Achim von Arnim in der Zeitung für Einsiedler publiziert . Aber vermutlich erst seine Veröffentlichung in der Märchensammlung der Brüder Jacob und Wilhelm Grimm brachte einen Bekanntheitsgrad mit s
