Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2006 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Ältere Deutsche Literatur, Mediävistik, Note: 2,7, Universität Potsdam, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Geboren 1642 als Sohn eines Lehrers am Zittauer Gymnasium, wurde Christian Weise von seinem Vater früh an die deutsche Sprache und Literatur herangeführt. Sein Weg führte über ein Studium der Theologie, der Poetik, Rhetorik und Moralphilosophie zurück an das Zittauer Gymnasium, wo er Rektor wurde. Sein Bestreben war es, die Jugend an literarisches Schaffen heranzuführen, welches er besonders durch Schuldramen zu erreichten suchte. Heute ist er, wenn überhaupt wegen seiner Dramen bekannt, und kaum einer wird wie er kritisiert und hoch gelobt. Vor allem scheint sich keiner sicher zu sein, ob man ihn partiell in die Frühaufklärung oder in die Tradition des Barock einordnen soll. Warum wurde er so begeisternd gelesen? Traf er vielleicht den Geist seiner Zeit? Was unterschied ihn von den anderen Dichtern? Warum streiten sich die Gelehrten über seine Einordnung? Da sich die Gelegenheitslyrik hervorragend eignet um einen historischen Einblick in eine Epoche zu erhalten, habe ich Christians Weises Gedicht "Mein Freund ich wünsch ihm Glück" ausgewählt. Seine Biographie dürfte ein besseres Verständnis seines Gedichtes ermöglichen, weshalb ich sie teilweise in meine Interpretation einfließen lassen werde. Anlass der Entstehung war die Hochzeit am 18. Februar 1698 von M. Gottfried Hoffmanns mit der Tochter des Zittauer Predigers, Christine Schönfeld. Es handelt sich dabei um die zweite Ehe des Rektors, welcher der Nachfolger von Christian Weise war. Weise war sowohl mit Hoffmann als auch mit dem Vater seiner Braut befreundet. Bei der Braut handelt es sich zudem um die älteste jungfräuliche Tochter des Predigers. Hinzuzufügen wäre, dass Hoffmann aus der ersten Ehe zwei Söhne mitbrachte. Im 17.
