Überdies wird sich zeigen, dass sich die interne formelle Kommunikation wie ein roter Faden durch die horizontalen und vertikalen Ebenen des Unternehmens zieht und jeder interne Stakeholder von ihr abhängig sowie gleichzeitig betroffen ist, um mit den Informationen zu arbeiten und diese dann weiter zu kommunizieren. Ebenso schnell wird man sich über die Tatsache bewusstwerden müssen, dass dieser rote Faden der formellen Kommunikation rasch verloren gehen kann. Dieses dann etwa über die informelle Kommunikation von der aufgabenbezogenen oder auch über die soziale Art kommuniziert werden. Dieser Herausforderung der informellen Kommunikation wird aus zahlreichen Gründen zu wenig Beachtung durch die Unternehmen geschenkt, besonders in Bezug auf den Wandel und somit im Change-Management.
