Death took me to a very dark place of solitude and challenged the very existence of my worth, as I sat on our bed distraught, weeping and weakened in a lowly state of mind; a thought jumped in my head expeditiously: "Why don't you get the shotgun and kill yourself, it's already loaded; what do you have to live for anyway?" I glanced at the shotgun pondering the thought seeking instant relief from the agony which was literally eating me up inside; grief and the sudden loss of my spouse were overtly visible in every area of my life and our home. The emptiness and the loneliness I was living with were excruciating, to say the least. I was devastated and overwhelmed by the circumstances and situations which surrounded this death. I had let my guard down. I am open and honest in describing how death affected me. In this book, I share mini miracles that God allowed to manifest in my life. I share songs of encouragement and testimonies of being obedient to his will. God has directed me every step of the way. To God be all the glory, always.
About the Author: Loretta L. Hardrick is a Christian, and a woman, a true lover of God, a stern believer in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This woman of God is a survivor, an active member of the churches of God in Christ, a graduate of Douglas High School as well as a member of the Douglas High School Alumni Association. She is in the process of developing and implementing the "Jurisdictional Literary Guild: Writing with Purpose," for Oklahoma SE C.O.G.I.C. Loretta enjoys songwriting, photography, and being active, rendering solos upon request, and she is an anointed woman of God. She enjoys writing and is a very creative writer. This author shares and expresses through reading as well as reciting her poetry and the works of other poets; a woman of determination and unwavering faith, a woman that uses her God-given gifts to minister. Loretta is a poet but didn't realize the gift until she was around nine years old. Her prior publications are: "A Poet's Music, Heart, Soul and Spirit," and "In the Kings Garden Sunshine and Raindrops." Her poetry carries a rhythmic beat; in-depth spiritual connotation, symbolic of all poetic expressions. However, Loretta's poetry is uniquely different it will encourage, enlighten, soothe, challenge and peak curiosity into the minds of each reader. Other publications which display her gift are: "The Great Beyond,"- Poetry Guild; "Star Dust in the Morning,"- The National Library of Poetry and "Dispatch Monthly." She is a woman that believes in the power of prayer and miracles in the twenty-first century. She has a Spirit of giving and compassion for others which leaves her crying out to God on behalf of others; crying out until God hears. Loretta stands firm in believing, to remain strong and have a strong prayer life one must fast and pray in order to reap the positive results which come through prayer. She is open to the will of God and relies wholeheartedly on hearing from God on a daily basis, she is a woman of faith. This is the beginning of life; having grown through death and coming away with a deeper sense of who she is and who God requires her to be. She is a woman with a sincere heart and a woman that will laugh and smile. She is open-minded and available for the next challenge which awaits her. Currently, Loretta resides on the outskirts of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in a slightly secluded area in gratefulness.
