Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2008 im Fachbereich BWL - Allgemeines, Note: 1,3, Hochschule Harz - Hochschule für angewandte Wissenschaften (FH), Veranstaltung: Veränderungsmanagement, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Diese Hausarbeit befasst sich mit den Problemen bei der Zusammenarbeit deutscher und chinesischer Firmen. Um die Entstehung der Probleme bei der Zusammenarbeit zu verstehen, erklärt der Verfasser zunächst kurz die dieser Hausarbeit zugrundeliegende Theorie der Kulturdimensionen Hofstedes, erläutert dann Chinas Position im Speziellen, beschreibt die Grundzüge der vorherrschenden Glaubensrichtung in China und geht schließlich auf das "Guanxi" - Prinzip chinesischer Geschäftsbeziehungen ein. Seit der Aufnahme der diplomatischen Beziehungen im Jahre 1972 ist China zum wichtigsten asiatischen Handelspartner für Deutschland geworden. Der chinesische Markt stellt viele besondere Anforderungen an eine ausländische Firma. Für das interkulturelle Management ist es wichtig zu wissen, dass Chinesen besondere tief verwurzelte und regional unterschiedliche Konsumverhalten haben und ausländischen Unternehmen und Produkten sehr misstrauisch gegenüber eingestellt sind. Um die Werte verschiedener Kulturen messbar zu machen, führte Geert Hofstede, ein holländischer Soziologe eine umfassende Studie unter mehreren tausend Personen 50 verschiedener Länder durch. Bei der Auswertung dieser Untersuchung entwickelte Hofstede 4 Kulturdimensionen, die sich aus der unterschiedlichen Herangehensweise von Kulturen an die für alle Gesellschaften vorherrschenden Grundprobleme ergaben. Diese Dimensionen sind Machdistanz, Kollektivismus und Individualismus, Maskulinität und Feminität und Unsicherheitsvermeidung. Später kam eine fünfte Dimension, die Langzeit- oder Kurzzeitorientierung, auch Konfuzianische Dynamik genannt, dazu, die bei der Hinzunahme des asiatischen Raumes entdeckt wurde.
