Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2007 im Fachbereich Pädagogik - Interkulturelle Pädagogik, Note: 1,7, Universität Paderborn (Erziehungswissenschaft), Veranstaltung: Interkulturelles Lernen in der Schule, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Bereits Nieke stellt sich in seinem Buch Interkulturelle Erziehung und Bildung (2000) die Frage "Wie [man] zu einem verantwortlichen und vernünftigen Umgang ... [mit den] Ange-hörigen von Mehrheit und Minderheit in einer Gesellschaft angeleitet werden" (Nieke, 2000, S. 9) kann. Er stellt für sich zwei Dimensionen dieser Thematik fest. Zum einen geht es ihm um die Be-sprechung der Frage von Ungleichheit zwischen Mehrheit und Minderheit. Für ihn besteht aufgrund dieser Ungleichheit ein Machtgefälle, welches sich auf den Umgang mit anderen Kulturen auswirkt. Zum anderen sieht er eine Differenz in der Selbst- und Fremddefinitionen vom Mehrheiten und Minderheiten. Nieke stellt dazu fest, dass "Mehrheit und Minderheit [sich] jeweils selbst und in Abgrenzung dazu die jeweils anderen bestimmen und identifizie-ren" (ibid). Faktisch sind Macht und die Definition von Unterschieden sehr eng miteinander verflochten. Verbunden mit dieser Konstellation stellt sich sogleich die Frage, ob es legitim ist, dass die Mehrheit automatisch Macht über die Minderheit ausübt. Darüber hinaus stellt sich die Frage mit welchem Recht Minderheiten ihre Lebensweise verwirklichen und ob sie sich der Mehr-heit unterordnen muss oder auch nicht. Bevor allerdings diese Dinge geklärt werden können muss zunächst der Blick darauf gerichtet werden, wie die historische Entwicklung von Interkultureller Erziehung und Bildung in Deutschland aussieht. Es stellt sich die Frage, ob diese Thematik eine rein deutsche ist oder ob es Parallelen zu anderen (europäischen) Ländern gibt.
