what is insulin resistance?who's considered "insulin resistant"?
Insulin is a hormone made in the pancreas, an organ located behind the stomach. Its main role is to regulate the amount of nutrients circulating in the bloodstream.
Although insulin is mostly implicated in blood sugar management, it also affects fat and protein metabolism.

The recommended diet for this condition is: green vegetables like broccoli, zucchini, eggplant, carrots, capsicum, celery, cucumber, lettuce, tomato, onion, shallot, leeks, green beans, asparagus, bok choy, choy sum, snow peas, mushrooms, bean sprouts, alfalfa sprouts, rhubarb, leeks, chives and if you can stomach them, you can have cauliflower, Brussel sprouts and cabbage.
