About the Book

Inside The Green Light Inside the Green Light is a novel that takes the reader into the secret world of Special Operations Low Level (SOLL). Every procedure is accurate and the roller coaster feelings are genuine. National defense policy and air defense of our borders are examined from an operational perspective exposing their fallacies and failures. International intrigue, espionage and murder follow a secret mission. The SOLL aircrew are hunted down by international assassins. Secrets are unraveled and the true purpose of the clandestine SOLL mission becomes exposed. The CIA and FBI work together to undo the criminal plot that was delivered by the misguided SOLL mission. All the while, NATO races against the clock to avert an attack that is aimed at devastating our country.
About the Author: Bernard E. Knorra, is a retired Lieutenant Colonel from the United States Air Force. In 1976, he attended the first class of the Bicentennial, Airborne training at Fort Benning, Georgia and earned his parachute jump wings. In 1979 he earned Air Force pilot wings and was awarded heavy jets at the 30th Military Airlift Squadron, McGuire AFB. In 1980 the Air Force expanded the mission of the C-141 Starlifter to include Special Operations Low Level (SOLL). These were top secret missions usually flown at tree top level with blinding speed. Several of his most memorable missions included: the 1980 rescue attempt of the American embassy hostages in Iraq; 1983 liberation of Granada from Cuba; 1983 Beirut support of the Marine Corps; 1989 the arrest of Noriega in Panama and countless missions for the CIA, DEA, FBI, Delta Force, Navy SEALS, Presidential support and organizations that remain nameless. Many of these missions never made print at the Washington Post. Stationed at the 756th Military Airlift Squadron in Washington DC, he reached the epiphany of his career. Twenty eight combat missions in defiance of Iraq for the liberation of Kuwait or Desert Storm. Two such missions almost ended in catastrophe. Ground to air missile attacks came within a few feet of annihilating his jet and over 218 airborne rangers. Evasive action earned him the Air Force Air Medal for bravery and valor. During his 23 year Air Force career he held many positions, from copilot to standardization pilot at the squadron levels; tactics officer and director of plans at the wing level then as a director within headquarters of Air Mobility Command. His work involved a wide range of business partners from the heads of state to African tribesman; Airborne jumpers to two star Generals. Ltc. Knorra was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1954 and graduated from the University of Connecticut with a BS and Southern Illinois University with a MBA. Today, he is a Captain with a major airline where his passengers will never share the clandestine excitement of his special ops past.
