Rotundamente influenciado por Andy Warhol, se desliga, sin embargo, del Pop anglosajón, e incluso del escaso arte Pop que se hace en España (Equipo Crónica / Manolo Valdés y Eduardo Arroyo), ya que el artista mallorquín al pertenecer a otra generación, no se siente identificado ni con unos ni con otros. "Siempre he tenido vocación internacional- dice Roig de Diego- He lanzado la mirada, por encima de los bellos campanarios de mi tierra, hacia otros horizontes. Sin desprecio y sin complejos. Es ha hecho que al final, cada vez me siento más español, los extranjeros me señalan como un elogio mis señas de identidad: - "Se nota que eres español" Lo que pasa es que tengo una paleta y un alfabeto que lo hace comprensible tanto para una asiático como para un norteamericano. Los más reacios son los propios mallorquines anclados muchas veces, en un paisajismo rural y matérico de barquitas y oliveras mal pintadas, digestión lenta de la escuela de Pollensa. Es lo que llamo "Lansdcapatología Balear". Sin embargo adoro lo propio y bien hecho como las oliveras de Pilar Montaner ("Los olivos que vos pintais son ciertos...", que le decía Rubén Darío). Formado en el mundo de la Comunicación (es Técnico de Publicidad (MIT) y Técnico Superior en Relaciones Públicas por la Universidad de Barcelona). Ha participado en cursos de la Escuela de Artes de Palma, el Círculo de Bellas Artes, la Fundación Miró y otros. Ha sido profesor en la Escuela Superior de Relaciones Públicas de Barcelona (sección delegada de Palma de Mallorca). Es Director Creativo de Publicidad Matas y colabora con Vinklum comunicación organizacional. Roig de Diego ha colaborado con músicos, escritores y directores de teatro, en escenografías teatrales, trabajos editoriales, etc. El artista mallorquín desarrolla un lenguaje propio, mestizo, resultado de combinar elementos muy diversos: iconografía religiosa, referencias a los clásicos y guiños a la cultura popular imágenes publicitarias, de la Red, y ama la estética de géneros del espectáculo como el Circo, el Burlesque o el Cabaret).
