Masterarbeit aus dem Jahr 2012 im Fachbereich Tourismus - Sonstiges, FHWien der WKW (Tourismus Management), Veranstaltung: Innovationsmanagement, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Es besteht ein immenses Manko an theoretisch geleiteter und empirisch überprüfter Forschung im Bereich Messung von Innovationen im Tourismus. Deswegen war die Entwicklung eines Modells, mit dessen Hilfe Innovationen im alpinen Tourismus messbar werden, das Ziel dieser Arbeit. Dieses wurde, basierend auf den Limitationen der bisherigen Arbeiten zum Thema Messung von Innovationen im Tourismus, entwickelt und empirisch überprüft. Eine für den Tourismus geeignete Kategorisierung von Innovationen wurde herangezogen, um die diversen Erneuerungen der relevantesten "Produzenten" des touristischen Produktes einer alpinen Destination mittels einer schriftlichen Befragung zu erheben. Die Bewertung dieser innovativen Tätigkeiten wurde in einem nächsten Schritt von Kunden und Experten durchgeführt. Anschließend konnte ein Innovationsgrad berechnet werden, welcher die quantitative Größe der Veränderungsneigung (Häufigkeit) sowie die qualitative Größe des wahrgenommenen Wertes bzw. der beigemessenen Problemlösung der Innovation misst. Mit dem Innovationsgrad als Schlüsselvariable konnte zum einen das Innovationsverhalten bzw. das -niveau der verschiedenen Leistungsträger festgestellt und verglichen werden. Zum anderen konnten Aufschlüsse darüber gegeben werden, welche Merkmale die Höhe des Innovationsgrades beeinflussen. Die Untersuchung ergab, dass sich das Innovationsverhalten auf einem niedrigen Niveau befindet und die Tendenz der Veränderungen in Richtung inkrementeller, regulärer Innovationen geht. Die "Innovationsleader" sind die Bergbahnen sowie die Tourismusorganisation.
