About the Book

All my stories are character-based and deal with the psychology of the characters., their actions and decisions. . I simply observe without imposing my own thinking on them. I do not like to manipulate the end. I think life itself leads them to their eventual destinies. Here are the synopsis for yiur interest.. 1. JOSEPHINE'S PEACOCK . Josephine is born without thumbs, undergoes surgery and wants to draw but can't. She starts doubting her ability and is too sad and withdrawn. Mother is desperate to help. She tells a lie as a strategy to relieve the daughter of her internal misery knowing that she can't draw. 2.JOSEPHINEI'S DAUGHTER. Mother whose husband has left her with a baby wants the baby to be perfect;but the girl elopes at 15 years of age to marry a boy . Now she repents and wants to go back to her mother who is no more. A sense of guilt haunts her as she feels increasingly lonely. Soon a baby is born but her guilt remains. One day after a brief argument with her husband he threatens divorce. Unable to bear her burden, she kills her baby. 3.MIRRORS IN BEDROOM Another marriage story . The husband wants different kinds of sex and erects mirrors in the bedroom. 4. IN HEMINGWAY TOWN Two waiters part ways but fate brings the two together. One of them has turned a gangster. Deceit, lies and violent incidents follow. 5. MOTHER - A son cheats her and hides his gult as long as Mother lives. She returns as a ghost after death to ask why.Finding him repentant and in grief, she cradles him in her arms so that he rests peacefully. 6. OF VENKY & VANI A musician's son is adamant, he decides to be a writer despite his father's wish that he choose music. The son, Venky, is getting nowhere as a writer. When he meets an old girl-friend, Vani, from his class, he realises his folly. Venky decides to be a musician . But it is too late. He fails to make progress and a few tunes his father had taught him aren't enough. Frustrated, he joins the army and gets killed on the very first day at the front. 7. REVERSE CLOCK A couple reviews their past, goes over the joys and sorrows but at a deeply personal level, the wife is sad and the husband realises that he has failed her in the final count. 8. BEGGAR DREAMS A beggar about to commit sucide decides to obey a saintly figure and prays one last time and God obliges him meeting every demand more than what the man asked for. The beggar wakes up in a palatial mansion all the luxuries of life at his command - wine, food, woman and a soft bed. He is more than contented and in fact it is way more than his bare needs. He eats and sleeps. He opens his eyes a long time later and is horrified that he is actually under water in an ocean and the fish are feasting on him..# please note I illustrat my book.
