Examensarbeit aus dem Jahr 2014 im Fachbereich Pädagogik - Schulwesen, Bildungs- u. Schulpolitik, Note: 13/15, Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Das Thema Inklusion, der gemeinsame Unterricht aller SchülerInnen, beschäftigt die Lehrerinnen und Lehrer aktuell wie kaum ein anderes Thema. Das von den Vereinten Nationen bereits 2006 verabschiedete "Übereinkommen über die Rechte von Menschen mit Behinderungen", auch: UN-Behindertenrechtskonvention (BRK) genannt, trat schon im Jahre 2008 in Kraft. Am 24. Februar 2009 wurde die BRK auch von Deutschland ratifiziert und stellt damit einen völkerrechtlich verbindlichen Vertrag für die Bundesregierung dar. Damit sind nun auch, spätestens seit der Ratifizierung, die Länder gefragt, die in der Bundesrepublik für Bildungsfragen verantwortlich sind, das Bildungssystem an die neuen Herausforderungen anzupassen. Bisher findet die Anwendung bundesweit meist in kleineren Projekten und nur im beschränkten Umfang statt. Die Modellschulen zeigen aber auch in Deutschland, dass es möglich ist, Inklusion umzusetzen, wenn auch bisher nur vereinzelt und im teilweise sehr kleinen Rahmen. Es scheint der Wille zu fehlen, die veralteten Strukturen im Schulsystem zu verändern und flächendeckend einen kompletten Neuanfang zu wagen. Am Beispiel von New Brunswick wird deutlich, dass es möglich ist, Inklusion auch auf breiterer Ebene zu verwirklichen. Hier wagte man schon 1986 den Schritt zu einer Schule für alle Kinder und seither wird dort überall gemeinsamer Unterricht angeboten. Im Rest des Landes sieht es aber nicht unbedingt schlechter aus: Alle exeptional children werden in Kanada gemeinsam unterrichtet und bekommen eine individuelle Förderung, genauso wie auch alle anderen SchülerInnen, die Hilfe benötigen, diese bei Bedarf in verschiedenen Einrichtungen innerhalb der Schule bekommen können. Man darf sich in diesem Kontext bewusst die Frage stellen, warum muss ein Kind gut genug für eine bestimmt
