Inhaltsangabe: Einleitung: Die Landrechte der indigenen Bevölkerung außereuropäischer Regionen, in der Ethnologie als Teilgebiet des Bodenrechtes betrachtet, sind beim Aufeinandertreffen von globalen und regionalen Wirtschaftssystemen seit der Kolonialzeit von grundlegender Bedeutung. Während regionale Bevölkerungsgruppen die Rechtmäßigkeit des Besitzes und des Zugangs zu Ressourcen überwiegend im Rahmen ihrer eigenen Rechts- und Regelsysteme beurteilen, operieren globale und auch nationale Wirtschaftsunternehmen nahezu ausschließlich nach den Regeln des internationalen bzw. nationalen Rechts des Landes, in dem sie aktiv sind. Aufgrund von Gegensätzlichkeiten und der oft prinzipiellen Unvereinbarkeit dieser beiden Rechts- und Regelsysteme kam es und kommt es dabei immer wieder zu Konflikten, die langfristig nicht selten auch gewaltsame Auseinandersetzungen zur Folge haben. Eine mangelnde Kenntnis regionaler Besitzrechte beim Erwerb von Nutzungsrechten auf Land oder zur Ausbeutung natürlicher Ressourcen führt dabei häufig zu einer Verschärfung derartiger Konflikte. Missverständnisse und Unkenntnisse beider Seiten über die Rechts- und Regelsysteme der jeweils anderen Seite spielen hier eine wichtige und nicht zu unterschätzende Rolle. In dieser Arbeit werden exemplarisch die Landrechte (engl.: landrights) der in Westsumatra lebenden Minangkabau und der im östlichen Teil von Kalimantan (Borneo) lebenden Kayan Dayak im Kontext des Nationalstaates Indonesien betrachtet. Als Landrechte gelten dabei, nach der Definition von Bodenrecht, alle normativen Regeln einer Gesellschaft, die den Besitz und die Nutzung von landwirtschaftlich genutztem oder nutzbarem Land betreffen. Andere Bereiche des Bodenrechtes, dies betrifft Regeln des Besitzes und der Nutzung von Ressourcen, bei denen es sich nicht um landwirtschaftlich genutztes oder nutzbares Land handelt, wurden aufgrund des begrenzten Umfangs dieser Arbeit hierbei ausgeklammert.
