This book is a collection of my favorite photographs over the past thirty-five years. As a photographer, I had the opportunity to travel all over south-central Indiana and visit wonderful state parks and places of interest. For forty years I lived with my wife, Sally, in Columbus, Indiana.
As a Landscape Architect, I had an appreciation for Art and nature's beauty always with a camera in hand, photographing my landscape projects and favorite places in Indiana. I have always enjoyed the impressionist paintings of Monet, VanGogh, and Indiana artists, William Forsyth and T. C. Steele.
I painted oil landscapes and sold them at the annual "Fair on the Square" in Columbus. Later photography became my first love, getting outdoors, hiking through the woods, and enjoying nature's beauty.
I like to think my photos are of a "paintery style" of impressionist, landscapes and florals.
Most of the florals and butterfly photos were taken at our home, Rockcreek Farm-Nursery in Columbus. I love taking photo of old barns, flowers and clouds, farmland and reflections in creeks/lakes. The last ten years I have been retired, devoting full time to travel and photography.
I have three galleries (Nashville, Greenwood, Franklin) that represent my work. I am a member of the Southside Art League, participating in art shows and exhibitions. I have won several awards for my work.
My travels have taken me to over twenty-five National Parks from the East to West Coast, inspiring a solo exhibition.
Another joy is writing poetry; this book has a description of my favorite things about the "Four Seasons".
I do hope the book inspires all readers to travel central-southern Indiana, and to enjoy the natural beauty around us.
