Quod deinde legebatur belli triumpho vel bellis triumphant, quorum utrumque habet cod. A, illud a sec. M., ferri non potest; alterum etiam absurdum est, quia belli triumphus non potest pari loco cum rebus adversis poni, alterum nec bene nec latine dictum est, quando quidem bellis triumphare h. 1. Sic intelligendum est, ut sit oblata bellorum gerendorum occa sione gaudere. Accedit praeterea, quod sequens sententia non potest apte pronomine ego incipere, cui cum nihil praecipui ponderis insit, necesse est aliquam vocem praepositam fuisse; quare nihil verisimilius, quam quod Rubenius et Gronovius conjecerunt: Triumphun� ego, ut illud sit nomen proprium murmillonis; quod cum librarii non agnoscerent, triumphi nomen putaverunt cum propinqua bellorum mentione aliquo modo conjungendum esse. Ceterum quod gladiator aliquis Triumphus nomine memoratur apud Martial.
