About the Book
Assistant District Attorney, Jerry "Pitbull" Marvin, calls Joseph Kerekes' and Harlow Cuadra's attempt to eliminate Bryan Kocis, "Their Burning Desire"...their compulsion to savagely murder him and burn the evidence. Their hope is to negate twink-porn-star Brent Corrigan's contract with Kocis' Cobra Studios, freeing him to film sex scenes for their rival porn studio, BoyBatter.com, and earn them desperately needed income. As a "documentary," the true story is compelling-but the tale, itself, longs to burst forth from that accurate, but stoic, courtroom-transcript format. In this fictional version, Lonnie T. Judas writes a passionate, vivid account by drawing on his years of experience as a mental health professional, a sex-therapist, a military criminal investigator, and a gay man. Utilizing his training in human-behavior, he profiles the lives of each character, romanticizing the bizarre, startling saga with lifelike, engaging personalities. At 8:34 p.m., on January 24, 2007, the fire department responded to a call at 60 Midland Dr., Dallas Township, PA, where a male-Bryan Charles Kocis-was found dead within. He was the owner of twink, gay-porn Cobra Studios-which starred Sean Lockhart, aka Brent Corrigan. The Coroner's report revealed that "the victim suffered twenty eight ... stab-type wounds to his body...one slash-type wound to his neck...and moderate to severe burns to his entire body. Probable cause of death was slash wound to the throat." The victim's father had difficulty identifying him, because, in his words, "... he was basically burned beyond recognition..." To this day, no one-no police official, detective, attorney, judge, or juror-can say exactly who murdered Kocis. Stylishly sexy Harlow Cuadra and Joseph Kerekes-porn-stars/producers-are serving life sentences for the parts they may have played in the murder. Both deny being the murderer, and neither has ever confessed. They continue to blame others, and each other, for the crime. There was no conclusive forensic evidence to positively determine if either Harlow or Joseph actually wielded the knife that struck the fatal blow. And both men gave differing accounts: saying one thing in private, and another in court. This book tells a likely story of how it may have happened; it entertains both men's versions: Harlow Cuadra's, wherein Joseph Kerekes is the one "who-done-it;" and, Joseph Kerekes' version, wherein Harlow Cuadra is the one "who-done-it." It's for you to decide whose version to believe. This riveting novel weaves its unpredictable way through worlds of gay porn studios and gay male escort services: twink-porn-stars, producers, directors, fluffers, male-prostitutes, and sex-lots of sex. Among the characters in this tale of jealousy, lust, and revenge, is Brent's partner, handsome Texan, alpha-male, Greg Rancher (and his loveable pooch, Samantha), who conspires with FBI investigators and eccentric attorney, Renaissance-man, Rendell Bringham, to help solve the case. Driving the plot to its dramatic conclusion is Detective Donald J. Dove, whose incessant appetite for getting to the truth is only equaled by his excessive appetite for food. In the Flames of Their Burning Desire is a gathering of people and events all coming together in a tale of greed, and grisly murder finishing in a contentious court-room drama. Like many a Greek Tragedy, in this story, you'll learn to love the characters-and to hate the fate that seems destined for them.
About the Author: Drawing from my many years in private practice as a licensed mental health professional and a clinical sex-therapist, on my prior military experience as a criminal investigator, and as a gay man in a committed relationship of 36 years (as of September 2016), I craft my novels. From the view-point of the classics, I bring the vocal arts, having served as a university and high school level voice and choral music instructor and as a soloist with symphonies and opera companies. In retirement, I have honed my skills with palette and paintbrush, extending that knowledge into a successful art reproduction business that serves a global clientele. I have come to understand that there are none of us who can be labeled simply black or white, as we are all-in essence-multi-layered shades of gray. As such, I do not limit the depth and complexity of my imagined characters, allowing them to behave according to their human impulses-in whatever situations they find themselves-given all their past experiences that may have informed such behavior in their present moment. I hope you enjoy reading "In the Flames of Their Burning Desire," as much as I enjoyed writing it. -- Lonnie T. Judas, BME, ME, MM, & LPC
