American public schools today are challenged, more than ever before, to improve the academic performance of every student. Improving Individual Student Performance through the AIP Process introduces and explains a tested, systematic process through which a team of educators in any school can accurately assess the academic needs of any student and apply the right interventions to improve that student's academic performance. About the Author: About the Author Margaret A. Rudt has taught in Montgomery County, Maryland public schools since 1988. She was the staff development teacher at Col. E. Brooke Lee Middle School from 2002 to 2011. When the school was placed in School Improvement status in 2006, the author played a leadership role in the successful planning, implementation and ongoing evaluation of the AIP process that helped the school correct its course and make adequate yearly progress for four consecutive years. Rudt has presented the process to principals and staff development teachers in the Montgomery County, Maryland school system and at staff development teacher conferences. Rudt co-authored, with Jennifer Morrison, an article about the successful use of the AIP process entitled, "A Tale of Two Schools," published in Educational Leadership online by the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.
