This book contains the knowledge about the importance of the veds. The veds which are the sacred texts of the hindu religion. The veds are four in numbers Rigved, Samved, Yajurved and Atharvaved. Rigved contains the hymns for praying to gods like Agni, Mitra, indra, varuna and surya. The veds are divided into four parts the Samhitas, Aranyakas, Upanishads and Brahmanas. There are many suktas and shlokas in the four different veds. These veds are the basic thing of the hindu religion. There are many types of rituals which are described in these veds. Suktas are large in numbers like Purusha sukta, aksha sukta, nasadiya sukta, dhan anna daan sukta, hiranya garba sukta. Rigved has samhitas called Shakala samhita, mandaka karma, ashtaka karma, ashvalayana samhita. The atharvaved samhita is the oldest samhita. The yajurved is divided into two parts the black yajurved and the white yajurved. It contains the knowledge of rituals like Agnihotra, Somayajna, Rajasuya, Agnicayana, Sautramani, Purushmedha, Ashvamedha, Sarvamedha, Pitriyajna, Pravargya and Darsapurnamasa. In every ritual offerings of various things like milk butter ghee and flour are given to the fire. There is a description of different puranas like vamana purana, varaha purana, matsya purana, vishnu purana, markandeya purana agni purana, linga purana, skanda purana, kurma purana, brahma purana, brahma vaivarta purana, padma purana brahmanand purana, bhavishya purana, garuda purana, narad purana, vayu purana are the different puranas.The word purana means very old. Ved vyas is the writer of different puranas. He gives the knowledge of puranas to his disciple lomaharshana. Then lomaharshana comprise the mulasamhita. There is a description of different samved mantras which are dedicated to lord fire. Atharva ved contains the knowledge of medicines. Atharvaved means atharvan who are the priests and ved means the knowledge. Most of the ayurvedic medicines are described in the atharvaved. Samved samhita contains the shlokas like Agna Aa Yahi Vitye grinano havyadatye, Ni Hota Satsi Bahirishi .It means the prayer to lord fire. Oh god of agni come here and we all of us praise the god because they give us everything. Tva magne Yagyanam Hota Vishvesham Hitah, Devebhi marnushe Jane . It means oh lord fire you unite all the powers which are needed in fire rituals. In the other topic, there is a description of the moral values of the world. The values like honesty, kindness, integrity, politeness, respect, equality, truth, knowledge and courage. The quality of truth has many powers. Honesty is also one of the good qualities of a person. Kindness means helpful towards the other people. The quality of the knowledge is the key to success. A person having the knowledge easily overcomes the problems of the life. Courage and knowledge are directly linked with each other. Science is purely based on the knowledge. Knowledge is the understanding of every subject in detail. The quality of courage has many high powers. Courage is the inner ability of a a person. It improves the working capacity of a a person. Hard work and courage are directly related to each other. The courageous person is hard working also. Courage also gives the strength to face the different problems of the life. There are three types of mantras in samaved . They are composed of three types of mnatras like verse, yajus and saman. Some important suktas of vedas are bhumi sukta, kala sukta, vivaha sukta, madhuvidya sukta, samansaya sukta, rohita sukta, skambha sukta, brahmacharya sukta. there are many Upanishads in vedas. The names of some Upanishads are Prasonupanishad, mundak upanishad, Mandukyo upanishad . The names of samhitas in vedas are Shakala samhita, Ashvalayana samhita
