Die Motivation von Mitarbeitern ist nicht nur von Interesse für Arbeitgeber, die nach engagierten und initiativen Teammitgliedern streben, sondern auch für die Arbeitnehmer selbst, die bestrebt sind, ihre berufliche Erfüllung zu finden. Motivation bildet somit einen Schlüsselaspekt für das tägliche Engagement am Arbeitsplatz, beeinflusst den individuellen Arbeitsantrieb und trägt maßgeblich zur Formulierung beruflicher Ziele bei. Im ersten Abschnitt dieser Hausarbeit werden grundlegende Begriffe definiert, um ein klares Verständnis von Motivation, Motiven und Motivationsansätzen zu schaffen. Dabei werden verschiedene theoretische Ansätze wie die Bedürfnispyramide nach Maslow, das Grundmodell kognitiver Motivationstheorien nach Rheinberg und der Motivationsansatz nach McClelland beleuchtet. Besonderes Augenmerk liegt dabei auf dem Grundgedanken der expliziten und impliziten Motive von McClelland. Die Unterscheidung zwischen expliziten und impliziten Motiven bildet den Schwerpunkt des zweiten Abschnitts. Hierbei wird erläutert, wie diese Motivarten definiert sind und inwiefern sie sich voneinander unterscheiden.
