About the Book

What if you had a single resource that answered the most pressing questions about settling in the United States? What if you had a book that showed you how to quickly settle your family in the US? That's what "An Immigrant's guide to settling in America-Survival" is about. Migrating from one country to another is never an easy task. The more prepared you are however, the less stressful it becomes. Born out of the author's own struggles while trying to settle in the US as a first generation immigrant. Researching and finding solutions to his own challenges, he discovered answers that were not only useful to him but others. This US immigrant compendium is for first generation immigrants, green card holders, fellows at US fellowship programs, exchange program students, college students, H1B, L1 visa holders and workers with other visa categories. Visitors and illegal residents will also find it a valuable resource. Like Maslow's hierarchy suggests, some basic needs have to be met before others. Needs like food, security of body and employment come before self-actualization. This book quickly gets to the meat of issues such as working in America, housing and accommodation, understanding the US credit system and food in America. There are many US citizens who have immigrant friends but they cannot connect with or fully understand their struggles. This book is written by a first generation immigrant who understands these struggles. Through the lens of this book they can help connect their immigrant friends to the help they need. If you are an immigrant, however you found your way to the United States, or even if you're planning to come over, you will find useful tips and information to make your stay here a fuller and richer experience. As the saying goes, "if you fail to plan, you plan to fail". Careful planning is really essential here in the US for transportation, feeding, shopping and many areas of life often taken for granted elsewhere. This is because there's more reliable information as well as cost effective and easily accessible tools to plan with. An Immigrant's Guide to Settling in America - Survival will give you an easy start to plan a cost effective, yet exciting stay in the US.
