Have we ever wondered what's next here on earth after our moment of salvation?
How do we discern what's just happened and what to expect-or not-after we surrender our lives to Christ and receive Him into our hearts?
After this moment, do we just continue on with our natural lives and wait for the promise of eternal life and the Second Coming of our Savior?
Why do we still feel lost as believers?
Why do a majority of our lives look no different after our moment of salvation than before it? Is this normal?
How do we find the truths to these types of questions with all the different denominational noise and various "religious" flavors of the week out there today? The word Christianity is a very loose label in society today. The very word turns off most unbelievers. Can we blame them? Hypocrisy is a word that gets used quite often when an unbeliever wants to describe a Christian's lifestyle or behavior.
The truth in real Christianity? Christianity isn't an ethnicity or the way we were raised by our parents or the color of our skin or the region of the world that we live. Christianity isn't a denomination we agree with or the church that we go to. Christianity isn't even the belief that there is a higher power out there-so to speak. It's not even close. Christianity is much different than any of those descriptions.
Being a Christian is being a Christ follower. It's always intentional. It's always determined. It's having a made-up mind. It's not a life full of coincidences or mediocrity, as some have made it out to be. We need to stop having the form of godliness and denying its power. This is a mockery of Jesus--all over again. It's time we stop bending to compromise, pride, and fear of man. The fact is this: Christianity isn't a label, it's a behavior.
Where are the mighty men and women of God today? Let's be a Holy Ghost-powered generation of believers that continues to prove the existence of our living King. For Christ followers, this should be the way that we aim to live each and every day, supported by His power. This will change our lives in a radical way and--equally important--will give witness to the amazing goodness of the living God that we serve, to those who are still lost.
Our Father's love is guaranteed-there's no question about that. His power and glory in our lives--here on earth however?--are not. One guarantee doesn't mean we automatically have the other.
Let's protect our positions in Christ each and every day, no matter what the cost, and no matter what it takes. For a believer, this should be our highest priority. In doing so, we will actually start to live out the fullness of our destinies with God.
