About the Book

The title 'Illegal Love' is very apt, based on events in the early 1960s, before homosexuality was legalized. The central character Karl is trapped in a love triangle with an older man (Vince) who's wracked with jealousy over his friendship with Jamie a younger man, (Karl's true love) Karl's involvement with a pretty married woman makes the situation worse. Karl's entanglement with vindictive Vince a crematorium worker has a devastating effect on his life. In a fit of jealousy Vince in a deceitful way gets the police interested in Karl's relationship with Jamie, resulting in Karl (once a prison officer) being sent to prison. In retaliation Karl reports to the police the goings on at the crematorium he'd witnessed. The stealing of rings off corpses and selling coffins back to an undertaker. As As the story unfolds it tells of Karl's life as a bi-sexual with the love of Sue and his love for Jamie. While in prison Karl keeps track of Vince's whereabouts. On his release he looks him up seeking his revenge careful in controlling his violent temper. The key to this psychological thriller, with several sub-plots, is how Karl plans and exacts his revenge, using Vince's weakness of his love for him to turn his mind, and have him committed to a home for the mentally ill. Executing the perfect crime, with no risk of prosecution. A heart breaking story of emotional blackmail and jealously. A tearjerker with an intriguing twist on Karl's release from prison exacting his revenge.
