Il n'y a pas de tristesse dans ce récit, car on y rit volontiers. On s'attache aux personnages atypiques, pittoresques, et parfois rocambolesques. La recherche de nourriture étant capitale en ces moments de privations, c'est un côté de la guerre que personne n'a encore raconté, mais qui vaut qu'on s'y arrête un instant.
