Ses recherches portent sur la production artistique de la Renaissance francaise et italienne avec une attention particuliere au pouvoir et a l'efficacite symbolique des images. Elle a publie de nombreuses etudes sur les rapports entre l'Italie et la France et sur la cour des Valois, ainsi qu'un livre dedie a Catherine de Medicis: Medicaea Medaea. Art, astres et pouvoir a la cour de Catherine de Medicis (Droz, 2011). Elle a aussi participe a des expositions et edite des ouvrages collectifs dont le plus recent est intitule Miroirs de Charles IX. Images, imaginaire, symbolique (Droz, 2018).
