About the Book

English summary: This work combines two studies, one on the one hundred fiftieth anniversary of the Risorgimento in Tuscany, the other on the artistic work of the sculptor Pio Fedi. Fedi's works, among which are a funeral monument in the Santa Croce Basilica that would inspireBartholdi and Eiffel's Statue of Liberty, garnered him great fame. His sculpture commemorating Tuscan ratification of the Risorgimento was bought by the princeEugenio of Savoy for the city of Florence in 1866. Italian text.
